Reflections on ClioCon 2025
I recently had the opportunity to attend ClioCon 2025 in Boston, and it was one of the most energizing professional experiences I’ve had in years. Clio brings together thousands of legal professionals, technologists, and innovators who are all focused on the same mission: making legal services more efficient, accessible, and client-centered. As an Oregon attorney and president at Hillsboro Law Group PC, that mission resonates deeply with me.
A Focus on the Future of Legal Practice
The biggest takeaway from ClioCon this year was just how rapidly the legal industry is evolving. From AI-powered intake tools to streamlined case management workflows, the theme was clear: the firms that embrace thoughtful technology will deliver the best experience to their clients. I attended sessions on workflow automation, client experience design, document automation, and AI ethics—all areas our firm is actively modernizing.
Reinforcing Our Commitment to Client Service
Clio highlighted something we’ve been working hard on at Hillsboro Law Group: clients expect clarity, responsiveness, and transparency. Tools like Lawmatics for intake, Clio Manage for case handling, and Lexidesk we are implementing all support that goal. Hearing how other firms use these tools gave me several new ideas to bring home to Oregon.
A Chance to Connect and Recharge
One of my favorite parts of the trip was connecting with other lawyers and legal-tech professionals who are facing the same challenges—and opportunities—that we are. Boston was a fantastic host city, and stepping away from day-to-day work to think big about the future of the firm was incredibly refreshing.
What’s Next
I came home excited to continue improving our systems, intake experience, and attorney workflows. HLG has added Clio Work and Lexidesk to our tech stack. Conferences like ClioCon remind me that the practice of law is changing quickly, but that change creates enormous opportunity to serve clients better than ever.
